Welcome to Sapphires!

In Sapphire class we are working on developing independent learners.  We make our topics as exciting and inspiring as possible so the pupils within our care are fully engaged.  We do this by having active and exciting lessons.

In Sapphire class we work hard, but we make sure that this hard work goes hand in hand with lots of fun!

We always welcome parent helpers in our units so feel free to get in contact and we will find some time for you to come and see what we are up to.

Below you will find out what we are up to this term. Please take some time to find our what your child is up to in school and how you can help at home.

Spring Term 2017

Welcome back to school/ We hope you had a super Christmas break and that Santa brought you everything your heart desired! The children have been full of news and we have enjoyed listening to their excitement as they have told us all about their Christmas day.

We have lots of great activities for the children to take part in this term. Our theme is 'Shiver Me Timbers!' and already the children are filled with enthusiasm. They loved making pirate biscuits and some even had a few chocolate chip weevils in them! Over the coming term we will be looking at treasure maps, going on a pirate adventure and be building a model pirate ship! We will also be having a Pirate Day when we will dress up and take part in a treasure hunt!

Another wonderful term at Branston Infants!

Hope you have all had a lovely half term. Our topic this term is ‘London’s Burning!’ We will be looking at the Great Fire of London. The children will be finding out about where and when the fire started, they will also be writing diary entries just like Samuel Pepys. The children will be designing and baking their own bread, so get ready for a bread tasting session at home!

On Friday the 11th November we will be having a remembrance service; during the week we will be discussing the significance of this day.

Our Christmas celebration this year will be a nativity production held in the school hall and a carol service at the church. The children will soon be starting preparation by learning lots of lovely songs along with taking part in Christmas craft activities.
